Automated backup systems

Are your files valuable? If so do you have a backup system that works?

Ask yourself some questions:

• What do I do if I loose all my data on my computer?
• How long does it take to restore a file that I have lost today?

Almost all data files are stored on magnetic plates on an item called a Hard Drive or Hard Disk. These are mechanical devices that spins internally at a rapid rate every day, every night that your computer runs. Just like a car engine, they can fail.

When they fail, your computer will not start, or you may loose your data files. This could be your emails, your contacts, digital photos, MYOB, QuickBooks data files, anything that you had stored on your computer or notebook PC. Without a copy on a backup system, getting back these files may not be possible. That is why we recommend a good backup system and procedures to be in place at your office.

If you do have a backup system inplace, how long does it take to recover and restore that file? Does it take 1 hour? A day? Or longer?
